Made in Chicago, born in Italy, Gonnella has been serving made-from-scratch baked goods to Chicagoland and beyond for 130 years—ever since Alessandro Gonnella first set sail from Barga, Italy to the West Side neighborhood in Chicago. It was there, in 1886, that he built his original bakery with nothing but a small wood-fired oven, a family recipe, and a dream.

For generations, our Gonnella family has carried on that dream. And although we have grown into a major, high-volume manufacturer serving America coast to coast—our frozen pizza dough maintains the quality and tradition Gonnella is known for.
